Tyler, The Creator's "IGOR" Set To Win Sales Battle Over DJ Khaled's "Father Of Asahd"
Thanks to HITS Daily Double, the recording industry has solid ground from which to base their sales projections for the week ending this past Tuesday. Tyler, the Creator's IGOR currently holds a slight advantage (in the thousands) over the closest competitor, fellow Sony Music artist DJ Khaled. While Tyler's IGOR figures to be in the range of 145-170k copies sold to close the week, Khaled's Father of Asahd falls just short of that number with a respectable showing of 110-135k in unitary sales.
Within those stated numbers, Tyler is credited with 45-65k in "pure sales," whereas Khaled culled 20-30k in that regard. Worth noting, Khaled's Father of Asahd falls to 2nd even though it benefitted from nearly-ubiquitous ad placement across all Apple platforms.
"Wish Wish" featuring Cardi B and 21 Savage, "Higher" with John Legend and Nipsey Hussle, as well as "Just Us" featuring SZA, are the highest earners contributing to Khaled's overall sales figures. "Just Us" is particularly popular on streaming services, as it currently occupies a Top 10 on the Apple singles chart.
While none of the figures depicted above indicate a sure bet, HITS Daily Double is usually pretty spot-on with their predictions, given the fact they pool their data straight from the source.
