Pat Robertson, born Marion Gordon Robertson on March 22, 1930, was a famous American media mogul, televangelist, and former Southern Baptist minister.

He had been a prominent figure in American evangelical Christianity for several decades. Robertson is best known for being the founder and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and as the host of its flagship program, “The 700 Club.”

Born in Lexington, Virginia, Robertson attended Washington and Lee University and Yale Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree.

He briefly practised law before turning his attention to ministry. In 1960, Robertson co-founded CBN, a television network dedicated to Christian programming.

Under his leadership, CBN expanded its reach and significantly influenced the conservative Christian movement.

“The 700 Club,” which premiered in 1966, has been one of the longest-running television programs in American history.

The show combines news commentary, interviews, testimonies, and prayers, allowing Robertson to express his conservative Christian views on various social and political issues.

Pat Robertson died on June 8th, 2023, at the age of 93. It is reported that he suffered a stroke.
